Deva Anderson

Mrs. Deva Anderson, of Russell Springs, passed from this life Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  She was 80 years of age.

Mrs. Deva was born Tuesday, September 14, 1943, in the Font Hill community, daughter of the late Everett “Hook” and Dona Wells Wilson.  She married Orvis Anderson November 5, 1960, in the Fairview community.  They have two sons born to their union.

Mrs. Deva was a member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church.  She was a lady who had a big heart and a giving spirit.  Mrs. Deva never met a stranger and loved to joke around and laugh.  She was a great cook and enjoyed working with her flowers.  Mrs. Deva loved her family dearly.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Orvis Anderson; her sons and daughters-in-law, Kent (and Brenda “Sue”) Anderson, of London, and Scott (and Gena) Anderson, of McKee; her grandchildren, Dylan Scott Anderson, of Somerset, Austin Dwayne Anderson (and Kristen), of Richmond, Christopher Lee White, of London, and David Ryan White, of McKee; her great-granddaughter, Leia Wren Anderson, of Richmond; her nephew, Patrick Loveless; her nieces, Brittany (and Jonathan) Matthews and Bridget (and Jody) Garrison; great-nephews, Braxton Loveless and Lucas Garrison; great-niece, Frankie Matthews; and her “bonus grandchild”, Layla Norman.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Deva is preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Garth Dale (and Barbara Glover) Wilson; her sister and brother-in-law, Brenda Charlene (and Frank Wayne) Loveless; and her nephew, Shawn Dale Wilson.

Funeral services are 12:00 noon CST, Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeff Griffin, Bro. Troy Coffey and Bro. Christian Naylor officiating.  Burial will follow in McBeath Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Dylan Anderson, Austin Anderson, Jonathan Matthews, Kevin Sims, Joe Smith, Lucas Garrison, Pat Loveless and Chris White.  Honorary pallbearers will be David Ryan White, Barry Wilson, Brian “Big Un” Wilson, Willard Owens, Bruce Lawless, Scott Pierce, Brad Akridge, Mark Henry, Rick Holt, Dean Wilson, David Wilson, Charlie Jordan, Les Akridge, Charles D. Hale, Jamie Barger, Kevin Shingleton, Lindsey Moore and Alex Popplewell.

Visitation for Mrs. Deva will be Friday, April 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. CST until 9:00 p.m. CST, at Bernard Funeral Home, and will continue after 7:30 a.m. CST, Saturday, until time for funeral services.
